Neo-Ziggurat
This project is a sci-fi reimagination of the ancient step pyramids found in previous Mesopotamian and Mesoamerican regions, such as the Great Ziggurat of Ur and the Temple of Kukulcán.
The first and second levels of the structure. A tech greeble effect is achieved through displacement and bump maps generated in JSplacement.
The "temple", located on top and given red emissive light to represent the sun.
The central staircase found in most step pyramids are made into five illuminated escalator lanes. Special thanks to the creators of the music video "Ziqqurat" (Yunosuke, YuKiMuMa on Twitter) for the initial inspiration for this part.
